In the blogging world Corbin is my forgotten child. Cooper seems to steal the spotlight because, well, he can walk and talk and do fun things. So I am dedicating this post to Corbin.
He is now 6 1/2 months old. Time is just flying! He's becoming more and more mobile every day. He is not yet crawling (as his pediatrician said at his 4 month checkup "his gross motor skills will develop slower because of his body mass". Translation: Your kid is fat) but he can get up on all fours and manages to scoot to get things that he wants. We started him on baby food a few weeks back and he loves it! It is so nice to have a child that is a good eater (Coop eats like a bird). He has also just started to experience the separation anxiety that sets in at about 6 months old. This means that EVERY time I leave the room he starts to scream. I try to walk out when he isn't paying attention, but it usually only takes about two minutes tops for him to realize that I am gone. It is no fun. I'm hoping this phase passes quickly.
We are leaving for home next Friday and he will have his 6 month checkup shortly after. It will be interesting to see how much my little Chubbers weighs.

SiCk KiDdIeS!
Let me just start by saying, I love Fall and the cooler weather that it brings. Unfortunately with cooler weather comes lots of sickness for the boys. Right now both Cooper and Corbin have pneumonia. About two weeks ago when we were leaving for our road trip to Cali, Cooper woke up with a pretty high fever. Well the fevers continued until we got back to Utah. The day after we got back, I took both boys in to a local urgent care to be seen. The doc said they both had ear infections (no surprise there. Cooper has had more than we can count and Corbin has had 5 in his short 6 months of life) and sent us away with some antibiotics. Well a week went by and Coop got another fever, so Scott took him into his work to be checked out (Cooper is spending two weeks with Scott back in Oregon). He called me and told me that Coop had pneumonia. I could not believe it! Scott had been saying since he got sick that he thought Coop had pneumonia. I thought he was just teasing, but unfortunately he wasn't, and he was right (what a time to be right, huh?!). I decided to take Corbin back to the urgent care the next day because he was pulling at his ear frequently. The doc checked out his ear and they also did a chest x-ray and determined that he has pneumonia also. Crazy!
Now I know it's not my fault. However, when I took them in the first time and their ear infections were discovered, the doc wrote a prescription for an antibiotic that I know Cooper is resistant to and chances are Corbin is as well. Rather than telling her to give me something else, I decided to "try it again to see if it would work". Bad decision! It didn't and that is probably what led to the pneumonia. Where's my Mother of the Year award?!

My Cooper-do Is Two!!!
My precious Cooper-do is the big 2 today! (Cooper-do is what his cousin Avonleigh starting calling Cooper one day and it has kinda stuck as a nickname) I know every mom says it, but he is growing up so fast! He has been looking forward to his birthday for a month now. He has talked about blowing out candles just about everyday. This weekend while we were visiting my family in L.A, we had a little birthday celebration for him at my sister Rebecca's place. Cooper just loved it and loved all of the attention.

A Baptism and a Blessing
This weekend the boys and I packed up and drove down to Cali for my nephews baptism and my nieces blessing. My brother's oldest, Dallin, was baptized on Saturday morning. The next day his youngest, Amelia, was blessed. It was so good to be able to go out and share these special moments with my brother and his family.

You Want to Wear What?!
Lately Cooper has started to show an interest in clothes. He is learning how to put his clothes on and take them off. He has also started to care what he is wearing and likes to pick out his own outfits. This has been interesting! Today he decided he wanted to wear this jacket and pants so we put it on him (we weren't leaving the house so it was ok). He wore this outfit, with no shirt underneath the jacket, most of the day.
P.S More pictures to come of him in his yellow rain boots that he INSISTS on wearing with everything (shorts included)!

4 Years!
Four years ago today Scott and I were married in the Orlando Florida temple. It's hard to think that it has only been four years. It seems like a lot longer (in a good way, of course!). It is hard to remember what life was like before we met. For those of you who don't know the background on how we met here it is. We met five years ago on an lds singles website. At the time he was still living at home with his parents in Florida and I was back at home with my parents in L.A. Neither one of us was much into the singles ward scene so we resorted to the internet. And it worked!!! We dated LONG distance for eight months and then I moved to Florida, we got engaged, and married four months later. Now here we are, four years and two children later, and I love him more than ever!
So in honor of our 4 year anniversary, I thought I would list the top 4 reasons I love Scott.
Here they are in no particular order:
1) He is very patient. He has more patience than anyone I know. Since I have zero patience it balances out pretty well.
2)He is very giving. I learned this early on in our marriage. He was leaving for work one night and was taking an extra pair of shoes with him. I asked him why he was taking the shoes and, after a lot of prodding (those of you who know Scott know he is a man of few words!), he told me he was taking them to a lady he worked with. Turns out he ran into this lady, who is a single mother, and her teenage son earlier in the day at the barber shop. Her sons shoes were pretty worn out and Scott thought that the teenage boy might like the shoes (they were a new pair that Scott really wanted so I surprised him with them a couple weeks earlier).
3) He enjoys serving others. I don't think the word "NO" is in Scotts vocabulary. If he is asked for help, no matter what the circumstances are, he is always willing. He's definitely not one to dodge the sign up sheets in Elders Quorum to help people move!
4) He is a great Dad. I always joke that Scott is a better mom than me. He is always so in tune with the boys' needs. The whole parenting thing has been so natural for him. He just loves the boys and they adore him.
Happy Anniversary Love! We miss you!!!
*I would have posted a wedding pic but they are all back in Oregon*

Extended Stay
Once again it's been a while since I've posted. I've pretty much accepted the fact that I am not a regular blogger. Anyway, a lot has changed since the last post. The boys and I have been in Utah for the last 4 weeks and we will be here for another 2 months. Why the reason for the extended stay? Well I am here nannying for Scott's sister while she completes her student teaching. Scott stayed back in Oregon to work cause we've still got bills to pay! So being without the hubby/daddy has been difficult for all three of us. We miss him terribly! This experience has given me a greater respect for military wives who have to deal with long deployments. We are fortunate to at least see Scott every two weeks and we talk to him several times a day.
While we have been here we have been having fun hanging out with family that we don't get to see on a regular basis and enjoying the things that a big city has, like shopping, that we don't have in small town Corvallis!
I will post pictures soon!
