Time sure has flown. He is growing up so quickly. He wants so bad to do everything his big brother does, and for the most part he does-including climbing up on the furniture and jumping from the ottoman to the chair to the couch and so forth. He just loves Cooper and it is so much fun to watch them play together. I love my boys!<br /><br />Here are just a few pictures from the little birthday celebration we held for him on Saturday. (Note: I don't blog enough so I don't know the correct way to upload pics so that they appear in the order I intend them to. So, they are out of order and if you want to view them in the correct order start from the bottom. I'll learn one day!)<br /><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6ka8297zpjVO7H59HY9uV7Sgcn9Na4csRl5Y5JVUPJrTzhaKfN6ViC82GhRtTLUKtD7FdWwWZ54CizdN5ZcrEHbkJ2SdhhLvt9APAVEQJgsbTvOpLrnqcy74SAho9JhlEg3NJluXyPh4/s1600-h/Picture+016.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6ka8297zpjVO7H59HY9uV7Sgcn9Na4csRl5Y5JVUPJrTzhaKfN6ViC82GhRtTLUKtD7FdWwWZ54CizdN5ZcrEHbkJ2SdhhLvt9APAVEQJgsbTvOpLrnqcy74SAho9JhlEg3NJluXyPh4/s320/Picture+016.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5324414932764788594" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:85%;">Just a cute pic of him-</span><span style="font-size:78%;">more for my family's viewing pleasure since they never see him</span><br /><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSr9bCwwyJnj1lvkutLJfrT3IPK1OyofB7oR8bgAmkZnvbkcOGLpZAPVHXtKzURTn3QsJMf0D0mIoXqSQLaB53SxlvkcwawjZM3ELhOx3Gnq3cvihsvx3yEU5IIRnBwpR8WRd0gq4qUv8/s1600-h/Picture+006.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSr9bCwwyJnj1lvkutLJfrT3IPK1OyofB7oR8bgAmkZnvbkcOGLpZAPVHXtKzURTn3QsJMf0D0mIoXqSQLaB53SxlvkcwawjZM3ELhOx3Gnq3cvihsvx3yEU5IIRnBwpR8WRd0gq4qUv8/s320/Picture+006.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5324414923296679890" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:85%;">Opening gifts with Coopers help</span><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size:85%;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5_uAoQOhI0xm4f0uKFgSSJyn-4UgNhnp2aDuoZk7fc6WAMAsMC8nEgWjT6ceNcPXTYt1JMycAGVnwDt-os9FI5CAUmwulJz7w6cHULgJydhdzs5sRtgf5c7yzGSn3H1bq6Ra6ifJH_DM/s1600-h/Picture+005.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5_uAoQOhI0xm4f0uKFgSSJyn-4UgNhnp2aDuoZk7fc6WAMAsMC8nEgWjT6ceNcPXTYt1JMycAGVnwDt-os9FI5CAUmwulJz7w6cHULgJydhdzs5sRtgf5c7yzGSn3H1bq6Ra6ifJH_DM/s320/Picture+005.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5324414918178579010" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:85%;">Corbin has giant hands. Cooper seems to steal the spotlight because, well, he can walk and talk and do fun things. So I am dedicating this post to Corbin.<br /> He is now 6 1/2 months old. Time is just flying! He's becoming more and more mobile every day. He is not yet crawling (as his pediatrician said at his 4 month checkup "his gross motor skills will develop slower because of his body mass". Translation: Your kid is fat) but he can get up on all fours and manages to scoot to get things that he wants. We started him on baby food a few weeks back and he loves it! It is so nice to have a child that is a good eater (Coop eats like a bird). He has also just started to experience the separation anxiety that sets in at about 6 months old. This means that EVERY time I leave the room he starts to scream. I try to walk out when he isn't paying attention, but it usually only takes about two minutes tops for him to realize that I am gone. It is no fun. I'm hoping this phase passes quickly.<br /> We are leaving for home next Friday and he will have his 6 month checkup shortly after. It will be interesting to see how much my little Chubbers weighs.<br /><br /><br /></span>Jessicahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00927502978881780212noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3981631737022286985.post-5319920393334184302008-10-13T13:10:00.000-07:002008-10-13T13:48:14.465-07:00SiCk KiDdIeS!<span style="color: rgb(102, 0, 0);">Let me just start by saying, I love Fall and the cooler weather that it brings. Unfortunately with cooler weather comes lots of sickness for the boys. Right now both Cooper and Corbin have <span style="font-weight: bold;">pneumonia</span>. About two weeks ago when we were leaving for our road trip to Cali, Cooper woke up with a pretty high fever. Well the fevers continued until we got back to Utah. The day after we got back, I took both boys in to a local urgent care to be seen. The doc said they both had ear infections (no surprise there. Cooper has had more than we can count and Corbin has had 5 in his short 6 months of life) and sent us away with some antibiotics. Well a week went by and Coop got another fever, so Scott took him into his work to be checked out (Cooper is spending two weeks with Scott back in Oregon). He called me and told me that Coop had pneumonia. I could not believe it! Scott had been saying since he got sick that he thought Coop had pneumonia. I thought he was just teasing, but unfortunately he wasn't, and he was right (what a time to be right, huh?!). I decided to take Corbin back to the urgent care the next day because he was pulling at his ear frequently. The doc checked out his ear and they also did a chest x-ray and determined that he has pneumonia also. Crazy!<br /><br />Now I know it's not my fault. However, when I took them in the first time and their ear infections were discovered, the doc wrote a prescription for an antibiotic that I know Cooper is resistant to and chances are Corbin is as well. Rather than telling her to give me something else, I decided to "try it again to see if it would work". Bad decision! It didn't and that is probably what led to the pneumonia. (Cooper-do is what his cousin Avonleigh starting calling Cooper one day and it has kinda stuck as a nickname) I know every mom says it, but he is growing up so fast! He has been looking forward to his birthday for a month now. He has talked about blowing out candles just about everyday. This weekend while we were visiting my family in L.A, we had a little birthday celebration for him at my sister Rebecca's place. Cooper just loved it and loved all of the attention.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgijcYr7GGAEK5Jz78stPurdYALp3WABUnajv-BjDkbcnl4VYCcJsDRup9JTxABwqJyseZ-JnmCc9aWD3lRfdA98Sj1ZRC-xUefZubS6DZups_Zg97z-o16j1sICyxtReOGsv1lY8kOpCI/s1600-h/Cooper+031.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgijcYr7GGAEK5Jz78stPurdYALp3WABUnajv-BjDkbcnl4VYCcJsDRup9JTxABwqJyseZ-JnmCc9aWD3lRfdA98Sj1ZRC-xUefZubS6DZups_Zg97z-o16j1sICyxtReOGsv1lY8kOpCI/s320/Cooper+031.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5251894315446499666" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:85%;">Blowing out his candle</span><br /></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUWLf7Dodffa6zkC_7sD-UglCHjtL84RngkPhicKtVnysSKW5keAfE7e72N3SeWukQjQB3-eW1b48t7thQJODxcgbWhHBxPoLUW4Il4RjhOLtmSN8reWSzziL84KQRQrqh6mhP0DOnYz8/s1600-h/Cooper+030.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUWLf7Dodffa6zkC_7sD-UglCHjtL84RngkPhicKtVnysSKW5keAfE7e72N3SeWukQjQB3-eW1b48t7thQJODxcgbWhHBxPoLUW4Il4RjhOLtmSN8reWSzziL84KQRQrqh6mhP0DOnYz8/s320/Cooper+030.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5251893106453455474" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:85%;">Singing Happy Birthday<br /><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiw87hCfj5KedBmOZzGv9ngvo-Q_t6DH9q9rtCC_0jbdaAC48NMx5Rkoari9UGkgeEtqZTmWhIWb7qX11xyqYB1aTsS-DWiOA8xg0GP7d6sACwbLihbuAFRVG0fBZuYyUg-6BxUwlEfV9Y/s1600-h/Cooper+027.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiw87hCfj5KedBmOZzGv9ngvo-Q_t6DH9q9rtCC_0jbdaAC48NMx5Rkoari9UGkgeEtqZTmWhIWb7qX11xyqYB1aTsS-DWiOA8xg0GP7d6sACwbLihbuAFRVG0fBZuYyUg-6BxUwlEfV9Y/s320/Cooper+027.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5251893120784981074" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:85%;">The cake with dinosaurs on top (not the best pic)<br /><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxzptguoLIPVRcWahma0puVlqN-0yjvEwGaWUTsi1bvoaTyxo0_2kWJrfpbhJo4ZSVuNZc1WW-cmcYHaM-KV8v6DIHGrZM44IKJ8rqEhXNCnU7RQh2UAebqwGOJIFe-UoihcruQ63MTVs/s1600-h/Cooper+024.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxzptguoLIPVRcWahma0puVlqN-0yjvEwGaWUTsi1bvoaTyxo0_2kWJrfpbhJo4ZSVuNZc1WW-cmcYHaM-KV8v6DIHGrZM44IKJ8rqEhXNCnU7RQh2UAebqwGOJIFe-UoihcruQ63MTVs/s320/Cooper+024.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5251893129079976098" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:85%;">The kiddos getting ready to break the tiger striped dinosaur pinata<br /><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdAuGllmyZHjcbIIb6pBCAcl8zF_M1T4I1RpPaVP1fAWVQLWnQP4KRkL0P9aD9K1lfvFmBGCRGxh1tKjRH82DXhj66Aj9V0v1F90YxKcXPRucgLNLx1Ebej5XIRyJI9TjjYgyOTUM7xXY/s1600-h/Cooper+025.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdAuGllmyZHjcbIIb6pBCAcl8zF_M1T4I1RpPaVP1fAWVQLWnQP4KRkL0P9aD9K1lfvFmBGCRGxh1tKjRH82DXhj66Aj9V0v1F90YxKcXPRucgLNLx1Ebej5XIRyJI9TjjYgyOTUM7xXY/s320/Cooper+025.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5251893133575232642" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:85%;">Coop collecting his loot. It's hard to think that it has only been four years. It seems like a lot longer (in a good way, of course!). It is hard to remember what life was like before we met. For those of you who don't know the background on how we met here it is. We met five years ago on an lds singles website. At the time he was still living at home with his parents in Florida and I was back at home with my parents in L.A. Neither one of us was much into the singles ward scene so we resorted to the internet. And it worked!!! We dated LONG distance for eight months and then I moved to Florida, we got engaged, and married four months later. Now here we are, four years and two children later, and I love him more than ever!</span><br /><br /><span style="color: rgb(0, 51, 51);">So in honor of our 4 year anniversary, I thought I would list the top 4 reasons I love Scott.</span><br /><br /><span style="color: rgb(0, 51, 51);">Here they are in no particular order:</span><br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(0, 51, 51);">1)</span> <span style="color: rgb(51, 51, 153); font-weight: bold;">He is very patient. </span><span style="color: rgb(0, 51, 51);">He has more patience than anyone I know. He was leaving for work one night and was taking an extra pair of shoes with him. I asked him why he was taking the shoes and, after a lot of prodding (those of you who know Scott know he is a man of few words!), he told me he was taking them to a lady he worked with. Turns out he ran into this lady, who is a single mother, and her teenage son earlier in the day at the barber shop. Her sons shoes were pretty worn out and Scott thought that the teenage boy might like the shoes (they were a new pair that Scott really wanted so I surprised him with them a couple weeks earlier).</span><br /><span style="color: rgb(0, 51, 51); font-weight: bold;">3)</span> <span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(51, 51, 153);">He enjoys serving others. </span><span style="color: rgb(51, 51, 153);"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="color: rgb(0, 51, 51);">I don't think the word "NO" is in Scotts vocabulary. If he is asked for help, no matter what the circumstances are, he is always willing. He's definitely not one to dodge the sign up sheets in Elders Quorum to help people move!</span><br /><span style="color: rgb(0, 51, 51); font-weight: bold;">4)</span> <span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(51, 51, 153);">He is a great Dad. </span><span style="color: rgb(51, 51, 153);"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="color: rgb(0, 51, 51);">I always joke that Scott is a better mom than me. I've pretty much accepted the fact that I am not a regular blogger. Anyway, a lot has changed since the last post. The boys and I have been in Utah for the last 4 weeks and we will be here for another 2 months. Why the reason for the extended stay? Well I am here nannying for Scott's sister while she completes her student teaching. Scott stayed back in Oregon to work cause we've still got bills to pay! So being without the hubby/daddy has been difficult for all three of us. We miss him terribly! This experience has given me a greater respect for military wives who have to deal with long deployments. We are fortunate to at least see Scott every two weeks and we talk to him several times a day.<br /><br />While we have been here we have been having fun hanging out with family that we don't get to see on a regular basis and enjoying the things that a big city has, like shopping, that we don't have in small town Corvallis!<br /><br />I will post pictures soon!Jessicahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00927502978881780212noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3981631737022286985.post-17270246776976255382008-07-24T08:18:00.000-07:002008-09-09T10:16:07.712-07:00This Is Temporary.........<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwQSEulRq0_6lIu1umjV9N45YvsL7z9PiCa1zfySgs2SDb2KGNi77wYCL6iaClDhxqTXzRmHSK_gVJPx_BcHLQHHOYCLYcg1wCvIsbCkrXzv3gjj4BysIDm5FrTb3L8lsKkmwmmTqApZY/s1600-h/CooperCorbin+199.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwQSEulRq0_6lIu1umjV9N45YvsL7z9PiCa1zfySgs2SDb2KGNi77wYCL6iaClDhxqTXzRmHSK_gVJPx_BcHLQHHOYCLYcg1wCvIsbCkrXzv3gjj4BysIDm5FrTb3L8lsKkmwmmTqApZY/s320/CooperCorbin+199.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5226600780478152274" border="0" /></a><span style="color: rgb(51, 51, 255);font-family:georgia;" >Scott has wanted to give Cooper a mohawk forever!! I'm going to give it a couple weeks and then shave it off!</span>Jessicahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00927502978881780212noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3981631737022286985.post-53122014310598441112008-07-19T17:06:00.000-07:002008-07-19T17:38:48.110-07:00Fishing<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6fscwhDvhR-BMwgkOc9GOrRs5X_nUkfOMKp_mNHIfPpPcpxL1jQRtwyUu__W0T_exGc4r570NPiywPnCq3taGjMBbUe9wwDw17ipKvUt9fgHAQLERSWR36pmHpy7_yR7soihjoCKMPgs/s1600-h/cooper+fishing.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6fscwhDvhR-BMwgkOc9GOrRs5X_nUkfOMKp_mNHIfPpPcpxL1jQRtwyUu__W0T_exGc4r570NPiywPnCq3taGjMBbUe9wwDw17ipKvUt9fgHAQLERSWR36pmHpy7_yR7soihjoCKMPgs/s320/cooper+fishing.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5224881813678029858" border="0" /></a><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Cooper went on his first fishing trip today with Scott. Ok, it wasn't really a trip. They just went down to a local pond. One of my biggest fears is having one of my children drown. Since they were going to a pond, not on a boat or to a fast flowing river, I was ok with Scott taking him. Scott said he had a lot more fun throwing things into the water rather than fishing. I don't blame him!<br /><br />P.S Please pardon the annoying underline. He is such a big boy. At his 2 month check up he weighed 13lbs. 13oz. and was 24 1/2 in. long. I'm not sure what he weighs now but I wouldn't be surprised if he has broken 15lbs. This is just crazy to us! Cooper is a very average size child and we have no doubt that, with the way Corbin is growing, he will be catching up to Cooper in no time! He is already wearing size 6 month clothes!<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0ouFTkh8HpXP2tIdxVmte5jXVonIipCDFlLw-TtyG_VGyLmJw0p26dA7nfsENS0aFYRUy1jG2Paf6yP1nmz8sLZKGQMbq5EZUT-Q54z3PICZKwjyyn3ICF8ZNmCAVgqp8vMUdS3NLVYo/s1600-h/CooperCorbin+195.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0ouFTkh8HpXP2tIdxVmte5jXVonIipCDFlLw-TtyG_VGyLmJw0p26dA7nfsENS0aFYRUy1jG2Paf6yP1nmz8sLZKGQMbq5EZUT-Q54z3PICZKwjyyn3ICF8ZNmCAVgqp8vMUdS3NLVYo/s320/CooperCorbin+195.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5221524854112236210" border="0" /></a>We broke out the exersaucer, that I swear we just stored away, and yesterday was Corbin's first day playing in it. There isn't an outfit in our family that is passed down from generation to generation like there is in some families. We could break out Scotts blessing outfit but we figured polyester isn't really "in" right now. Cooper was born in the fall so his outfit would be too warm to wear. So we went out shopping on Saturday and it is SO difficult to find church clothes for a newborn boy! We could settle for one of those little satin tuxedos they sell at the swap meet, but we figure he would be a little overdressed. So after hitting every major childrens clothing store that we could think of, we ended up at the Baby Depot where we found this super cute outfit. Only problem is that it is premie size. It looked big enough so we decided to get it. I'm not sure what we were thinking. This kid was born the size of a toddler! Needless to say, the top is a little snug and the pants are capris on him. Oh well, we will keep it for our next boy and begin our search again!Jessicahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00927502978881780212noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3981631737022286985.post-3992796276105298272008-04-28T23:16:00.000-07:002008-04-28T23:28:07.787-07:00CousinsMy sister Carri was so kind to come and help out after I had Corbin. He weighed in at 9lbs. 5oz. and was 22 inches long! That is a whole 2lbs. and 2 inches longer than his brother Cooper was at birth. I was expecting another 7 pounder but boy was I wrong! No wonder he was so much more difficult to push out!<br />I was thrilled that he was born on the 13th because that is my brothers birthday and we had already decided we were going to give him my brothers name for his middle name. So now he shares his birthday and name with his uncle Mike. I'm sure he'll grow up to be as good of a man as his uncle! He's definitely already taking after him in size!Jessicahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00927502978881780212noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3981631737022286985.post-10305437291836011852008-04-26T09:19:00.000-07:002008-04-26T09:29:58.958-07:00Long Time Gone.........<span style="color: rgb(102, 51, 102); font-weight: bold;"><span style="font-family:courier new;">I have decided to re-enter the blogging world. This particular night he was overly tired and really not feeling his costume, hence the annoyed/whiny look on his face.
