My Cooper-do Is Two!!!

My precious Cooper-do is the big 2 today! (Cooper-do is what his cousin Avonleigh starting calling Cooper one day and it has kinda stuck as a nickname) I know every mom says it, but he is growing up so fast! He has been looking forward to his birthday for a month now. He has talked about blowing out candles just about everyday. This weekend while we were visiting my family in L.A, we had a little birthday celebration for him at my sister Rebecca's place. Cooper just loved it and loved all of the attention.

Scott is coming to town on Thursday to celebrate with Cooper and to go to the Utah vs. OSU game (GO BEAVS!) and we can't wait. More pictures from that celebration will be posted later.

A Baptism and a Blessing

This weekend the boys and I packed up and drove down to Cali for my nephews baptism and my nieces blessing. My brother's oldest, Dallin, was baptized on Saturday morning. The next day his youngest, Amelia, was blessed. It was so good to be able to go out and share these special moments with my brother and his family.

You Want to Wear What?!

Lately Cooper has started to show an interest in clothes. He is learning how to put his clothes on and take them off. He has also started to care what he is wearing and likes to pick out his own outfits. This has been interesting! Today he decided he wanted to wear this jacket and pants so we put it on him (we weren't leaving the house so it was ok). He wore this outfit, with no shirt underneath the jacket, most of the day.

P.S More pictures to come of him in his yellow rain boots that he INSISTS on wearing with everything (shorts included)!

4 Years!

Four years ago today Scott and I were married in the Orlando Florida temple. It's hard to think that it has only been four years. It seems like a lot longer (in a good way, of course!). It is hard to remember what life was like before we met. For those of you who don't know the background on how we met here it is. We met five years ago on an lds singles website. At the time he was still living at home with his parents in Florida and I was back at home with my parents in L.A. Neither one of us was much into the singles ward scene so we resorted to the internet. And it worked!!! We dated LONG distance for eight months and then I moved to Florida, we got engaged, and married four months later. Now here we are, four years and two children later, and I love him more than ever!

So in honor of our 4 year anniversary, I thought I would list the top 4 reasons I love Scott.

Here they are in no particular order:

1) He is very patient. He has more patience than anyone I know. Since I have zero patience it balances out pretty well.
2)He is very giving. I learned this early on in our marriage. He was leaving for work one night and was taking an extra pair of shoes with him. I asked him why he was taking the shoes and, after a lot of prodding (those of you who know Scott know he is a man of few words!), he told me he was taking them to a lady he worked with. Turns out he ran into this lady, who is a single mother, and her teenage son earlier in the day at the barber shop. Her sons shoes were pretty worn out and Scott thought that the teenage boy might like the shoes (they were a new pair that Scott really wanted so I surprised him with them a couple weeks earlier).
3) He enjoys serving others. I don't think the word "NO" is in Scotts vocabulary. If he is asked for help, no matter what the circumstances are, he is always willing. He's definitely not one to dodge the sign up sheets in Elders Quorum to help people move!
4) He is a great Dad. I always joke that Scott is a better mom than me. He is always so in tune with the boys' needs. The whole parenting thing has been so natural for him. He just loves the boys and they adore him.

Happy Anniversary Love! We miss you!!!

*I would have posted a wedding pic but they are all back in Oregon*

Extended Stay

Once again it's been a while since I've posted. I've pretty much accepted the fact that I am not a regular blogger. Anyway, a lot has changed since the last post. The boys and I have been in Utah for the last 4 weeks and we will be here for another 2 months. Why the reason for the extended stay? Well I am here nannying for Scott's sister while she completes her student teaching. Scott stayed back in Oregon to work cause we've still got bills to pay! So being without the hubby/daddy has been difficult for all three of us. We miss him terribly! This experience has given me a greater respect for military wives who have to deal with long deployments. We are fortunate to at least see Scott every two weeks and we talk to him several times a day.

While we have been here we have been having fun hanging out with family that we don't get to see on a regular basis and enjoying the things that a big city has, like shopping, that we don't have in small town Corvallis!

I will post pictures soon!
